Hello World!
September 30, 2006
Today Mama Stella, Mama Jasmine and Papa Reynold gave me away to my new Mummy Daphne. I was very sad when Mama Stella put me in the hamster cage, packed my food bowl and water bottle, and put some of my favourite piggy food pellets into a plastic bag, and told me that I was going someplace new.
It was drizzling outside. Mama Stella carried me to the bus stop near our house. Then a lady in a white long sleeved shirt with a flower pinned on her shirt stood up and smiled at Mama.
Her flower looked nice. I cheered up a little. Maybe she will let me eat it later.
They talked for awhile, then Mama and my new Mummy brought me to the pet shop where I was born. Avin (pet shop owner) was there, so they talked while I sat in my tiny cage (temporary, I hope).
My new Mummy started picking out things for me. She got a huge pack of Timothy hay (yay my favourite!), food pellets, liquid vitamins, a wooden block (I’m not sure what this is for), some paper bedding, and a huge metal ball for my hay.
Does that mean I’m going to get to eat alot of hay?
Mummy talked to Avin for a long time, asking him things like, how many times should she feed me every day, whether or not she should bathe me every week, and what types of food must she give me so that I get a ‘balanced diet’.
What is a balanced diet? I’m not sure. But Avin says the important things are vegetables, hay, fruits and food pellets. So I guess ‘balanced diet’ is a lot of yummy food!
Mummy didn’t buy me a cage though. I wanted a new one! I can almost jump from one side of this cage to another side; that’s how small it is.
Felt miserable.
After waiting for a long time, Mama and Mummy carried me (and all my new things) to the roadside, and we stopped a car. Before that, 2 big fat drops of rain fell on my head. I wheeked in protest but no one heard me.
We got onto the car and I waved at Mama sadly, and she waved back at me and Mummy.
Well, we’re now off to my new home. We sat in the car for a long time, so I think my new home is in another country maybe. Mummy kept looking at me. I think she was worried that I might be cold, because she put her hand into the cage, next to my body. Or maybe she was cold, cos she just put her hand on my body, like she wanted to warm her hands.
Then she took a picture of me hiding under my food bowl.

I felt abit dizzy because the car went abit fast. What’s my new home like, I wonder?

Hi,
Please don’t put them onto the cat like pellets. I like the idea of the cage you built but guineapigs don’t like the grid on the floor. Their feet will get hurt in logn term.
Greetings from Switzerland
